Tom + Jamie's Winter Cleveland Engagement Session at Rockefeller Park Greenhouse | Hungarian Cultural Garden | The Cleveland Museum of Art

A couple of weeks ago, Donny & I had the pleasure of photographing Tom + Jamie in celebration of their engagement. These two were so much fun to work with! The best thing about engagement shoots is when midsession it starts to feel like you’re just hanging out with some good friends. Engagement sessions are such a great way to bond with clients & get a feel for what they prefer; it’s also a great time to practice posing before the big day! Tom + Jamie were so much fun to be around and were complete naturals. They made our jobs very easy. Sedona, their furry pup, also joined us for our Cleveland shoot, and she was so cute & spunky! (We always love when our clients bring their pets to celebrate with them!)

This session was so smooth & enjoyable that it seemed to fly by, although we hopped around a lot. We visited several different locations around Cleveland, including Rockefeller Park Greenhouse, Hungarian Cultural Garden, and The Cleveland Museum of Art. Although it was frigidly cold outside with a wicked wind chill, we decided to also shoot outdoors—we all sucked it up for the chance to capture some gorgeous snowy landscape shots, which we did! :)

The first location we visited was Rockefeller Park Greenhouse, a cozy hot-house which features pretty red brick walls & walkways, plenty of natural light, & gorgeous flowers + greenery, including cacti & southwestern style plants — which if you know anything about Tom & Jamie, you know that’s totally their style! There was also a cute vintage door & a classy brick wall located on the property that we used as props for our shoot. So much variety is offered in a relatively small space here. This location is definitely one of our new favorite go-to spots in Cleveland during the winter months when pretty indoor locations are limited & outdoor shoots are more difficult to manage.

Next, we traveled to the Hungarian Cultural Garden. This spot was just perfect. Even in winter time, the garden’s beauty is very apparent—from its far reaching arbors to its pool and plants, it is absolutely gorgeous at any time of year, especially when there’s snow fall! It also helps that this location faces westward, allowing pretty natural light to illuminate the garden from behind.

Our last stop was the Cleveland Museum of Art. Although we didn’t have time to photograph outside of the building, we did manage to capture some great moments inside and make the most of a bitterly cold day (also, garage parking is free for the first 0.5 hour and photography is allowed within the large general inside area without a permit for anyone wondering!)

I loved their outfit choices — especially Jamie’s dress. It complements the museum so well!
